Philosophy
The mission of Crosshill Community Preschool is to provide young children with an exceptional educational experience. We nurture social, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth through experiences that are age-appropriate.
Our goals are to encourage a love of learning, confidence, and creativity.
Daily activities are designed to foster the natural curiosity of young children as they interact with their environment and with others. As children explore, discover, make choices, and solve problems, they will make sense of their world and gain confidence in new skills. They will learn and grow.
Nurturing the Whole Child
Crosshill Community Preschool is committed to the principle that each child is a person of intrinsic worth. The program is designed to foster self-esteem, independence, and creativity in a warm, respectful, and pleasurable environment. Our aim is to instill in each child a respect for others, courtesy, kindness, and a positive attitude toward school and learning.
Crosshill Community Preschool is not associated with a specific religious denomination. Christian values are modeled by teachers on a daily basis as they interact with the children, sing a prayer before snack time, and discuss the religious meaning of holidays.
Accreditation and Licensing
Crosshill Community Preschool is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our program earned this distinction by demonstrating and maintaining compliance with the high accreditation standards established by the NAEYC. This is the largest and most widely recognized national organization for advocacy, research, training, and accreditation of early childhood programs.
Crosshill Community Preschool is licensed by the Michigan Department of Human Services.
